Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and create a diverse range of pastry items including cakes, cookies, pies,
and bread, adhering to both traditional and contemporary recipes. - Develop new and innovative dessert menus in collaboration with the Head Chef and
Sous Chef. - Skilfully decorate pastries using various icings, toppings, and techniques to ensure
visually stunning and enticing presentations. - Uphold rigorous standards of food hygiene and adhere to health and safety
regulations, ensuring the safety and well-being of guests and staff alike. - Monitor portion and waste control measures to maintain optimal profit margins.
- Train and mentor junior pastry staff, ensuring consistency and quality in their work
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a reputable kitchen
- Expertise in pastry techniques and a strong understanding of baking principles
- Possession of relevant qualifications and certifications in food handling
- Effective communication skills and a personable demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in the English language; fluency in an additional language is considered
advantageous.
